Stonington Borough, CT - Home of the Fishers Island Sound Tide Races

Stonington Borough is a quaint New England village located in the north-east corner of Connecticut, USA approximately a 2.5 hour drive north from New York City or a 1.75 hour drive from the Boston area. The event is located at the New England Science & Sailing Centre, 70 Water Street, Stonington, CT.  

Nearby Airports:  T.F. Green Airport, Warwick, RI is less than one hour away.  The major airport in Boston, Logan International, is under 2 hours away.  New York area airports are under 3 hours away. 

Places to Stay and Eat in and near Stonington
Participants are responsible for their own food and lodging during the event.  We recommend arriving Thursday evening if you are coming any distance.  There are a few lodging options, including B&B's and hotels, right in Stonington Borough and more just a short distance away in Mystic Connecticut.  For camping options, the Mystic KOA, located in North Stonington has tent sites, RV sites, and rustic cabins.  

Friday night, the crew heads to the local Fish Fry held at the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society located at 26 Main Street, right in the borough. It's a community event with family style seating where fish & chips, scallops, clams, calamari, shrimp, chowder and beer/wine are available for purchase at a reasonable cost.   

Right in Stonington Borough, there are a number of good restaurants including Noah's and Water Street Café.  

A Big Y supermarket is located at 179 Stonington Rd Mystic, CT - about 6.5 miles from the Borough.
